Completed England, England on the train ride home today, then started on Arthur and George by Julian Barnes, the same author, found out that the aforementioned Arthur is none other than Sir Conan Doyle himself. Should have had some suspicion going into the book since the blurb at the back says Arthur goes on to become a doctor and a writer, but only thought something was up when the story mentioned his siblings Annette, Innes, Connie and Lottie and his studying at Stonyhurst and his mother the wonderful storyteller. Only had to turn to the author's note at the end to confirm it.

What a nice surprise! Made me glad, even if just for a little while
